British Pacific Properties

The story of British Pacific Properties is deeply entwined with the story of West Vancouver. In 1931, British investors led by the Guinness family purchased more than 4,000 acres of this hillside and hired the Olmsted Brothers, the landscape architects behind New York City’s Central Park, to create a mountain sanctuary removed from hectic city life—but still within a short drive to its amenities. And so the British Properties were born.

Since then, the company has pioneered communities like Whitby Estates and landmarks such as Park Royal (Canada’s first covered shopping centre), Capilano Golf & Country Club (consistently ranked among the top ten golf courses in Canada) and the Lions Gate Bridge (a National Historic Site). Today, British Pacific Properties is synonymous with exceptional quality, extreme attention to detail and progressive stewardship of the natural environment. These hallmarks guide the development of everything we do
